William A. White

 William Andrew White was the son of two slaves he was born on June 16 1874 after the American civil war. William is an army chaplain. He was the first and only black officer during the first world war. In 1916, William enlisted in the No. 2 Construction Battalion. Following the war William was called over to cornwallis street baptist church.
