Rosemary Brown

Rosemary Brown was a girl born in Jamaica and came to Canada when she was twenty one. She died in 2003 and she was seventy two when she died. She died from a heart attack in Vancouver, British Columbia on April 26th 2003.

She came to Canada because she wanted to be a part of the Legislative Assembly, also known as an MLA. She became part of the New Democratic Party from 1972-1986 making hr the first black Canadian woman to be elected to a Canadian provincial legislature.
